Scott’s Tours by
Valiene Heckart
Scott Southerland comes by his interest in tours from his heritage.
His grandparents owned a resort on the Orcas Islands
and Scott worked there from the time he was 15 years old. He
grew up on Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada. In 1965 he came to

Acapulco and continued to visit Mexico for many years. In 1990, he
read about a bass lake on the internet and decided to visit it. He came
for 10 days and, more or less, stayed for a lifetime. In 1994, he started
a bass club near Tomatlan, and had restaurants and bars.
He even married his guide’s daughter, Virgenia (known as Vicky) and today,
they have two daughters with another on the way. For a time, Scott taught
school at Colegio Britannia America and at Colegio Bucerias. He has a
Masters Degree from Western University in Washington in Environmental
Science.
From 1999-2003, Scott worked at Paradise Village in advertising and public
relations.
About this time, he and Vicky moved to Bucerias. They started the tour
business in 2004.
Scott and Vicky offer an extensive tour business here. They have whale
watching, jungle tours, dolphin swims, sunset cruises, Yelapa tours,
fishing charters, canopy tours, ATVs, etc. To sit and listen to Scott
talking to tourists is an adventure in itself. He is genial, thoughtful,
helpful and honest. As I sat there today, I heard him advise tourists on
the best days to take tours (often because of the cruise ships in
PV), offering the best discounts that he could, the best way to
get to the marina in PV or to the Water Park in Nuevo. He is
always concerned with making people happy with the tour they have chosen.
Scott’s older son and daughter manage the family’s salmon fishing resort
in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. In addition to his tour business, Scott
has worked in numerous movies and TV shows. He was a stand in for the star
of the Conan TV series.
He has been a wonderful supporter of local charities, particularly
Rhythm ‘n Ribs, the grand fiesta for the Manos de
Amor orphanage project. He never fails to donate several cruises,
whale watching, or whatever to help in the fund raising. He also
offers special discounts on his tours to local residents.
Unlike the time share people, Scott’s tours are straight
forward, no hidden agendas or need for sitting through some
presentation.
If you want a good tour at a reasonable price, be
sure to visit Scott. He is located just south of the bridge over
the Arroyo in Bucerias. You can also go to his website at
www.vallartatraveladvisor.com or call 298-1312.
Welcome from Scott and
Vickie
We offer the best
tours with the best prices in the area.
Don't be fooled by lower price offered.
After working 10 years in
some of Puerto Vallarta's major hotels, it became apparent that a constant
complaint from tourists was the high cost of tours. Previously, the only
discounts offered travelers required attending a sales
program.
At Scott Travel Advisor, we
have just straight forward good deals. Our philosophy is simple. We offer
the best tours at the best prices. This is our guarantee. Our prices can't
be beaten.
We have all tours offered by all
companies, but we specialize in the top 10 that are favored by
tourists . We are ticket sales only and can give you the best prices when
you reserve with us. The tours are listed on the menu on the left and have
photos, descriptions and prices of each trip or tour.
Pick your tour, plan
your trip, and get your best price here guaranteed.
Thank you for your interest and we hope
to hear from you! Stop by the office and say hello or tell us about your
best/worse trip or tour.
