With the beautiful Pacific and the Banderas Bay, you'll not be able to resist trying diving. Weather you are an experienced diver, novice or this is your first time, there is a trip suited to you.

Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico's top dive destinations, and with Vallarta Adventures both certified divers and beginners can discover the diverse abundance of sea life in the warm, clear waters of Banderas Bay and the Mexican Pacific.

Check the map to view dive spots & dive sites.
Beginner and certified divers can share the day with friends and family who do not dive by taking advantage of our daily Snorkeling trips to Las Caletas and the Marietas Islands. By combining your bookings, your non-diving friends can enjoy snorkeling, kayaking or just lazing in the sun while you explore the treasures beneath the sea.

We also offer certified divers Dedicated Dives to some of the most spectacular and exhilarating dive sites in Banderas Bay and the Mexican Pacific.

Dive 1. Las Marietas Islands:

Originally made famous by Jacques Cousteau in the 1970's, the Marietas Islands Marine Reserve has now become one of the most popular areas in Western Mexico for scuba diving. Part of an underwater mountain range that peaks above the ocean's surface, the Marietas Islands mark the entrance to Banderas Bay from the Pacific.

With Vallarta Adventures beginner and certified divers can share an exciting day with friends and family who don't dive. On our Sunday thru Friday trips to the Marietas Islands, non-divers can spend the day sea kayaking or snorkeling while you enjoy exceptional scuba diving in the crystal clear waters of the Mexican Pacific -

Surrounded by the blue waters of the Pacific 40 miles from Puerto Vallarta, this remote island attracts all manner of sea life - and very few scuba divers. With depths of up to 150 ft, El Morro offers wall diving, caves and a 50 ft tunnel, giving experienced divers the chance to practice more technical diving in a remote location.

Home to a great diversity of marine life including lobsters, turtles, octopus, sharks, sea horses, dolphins, jacks, yellowtails, sailfish and the largest moray eels and manta rays you've ever seen, trips to this spectacular dive site are available to small groups of certified divers only. Dive #5 Los Anegados

This rock bank lies half way between El Morro and the Marietas Islands in a relatively sheltered area of the outer limits of Banderas Bay. The bank starts at around 30 ft below the ocean's surface and is full of caves and interesting rock formations. The highlight of this dive is the chance to see nurse sharks which are often sighted here.

Los Anegados is a popular second dive after the deeper descents at El Morro and, due to the shallower depths here, it is common that you will see bottom dwellers such as rays and eels. Pelagics such as Tuna and Jacks are also very common here as well as the famous giant manatas of the Marietas Islands. This popular scuba tour gives you the chance to enjoy a one tank dive at both El Morro and Los Anegados for one low price -

Trip #6  El Sequial

This submerged "table top" island lies approximately 1km north of La Corbeteņa and is a haven for large marine life. Approximately 300 meters long, this dive location appears like a giant sunken football field at a depth of between 60ft and 80ft full.

Incredible drop-offs on each side of the table-top make for a unique diving experience and due to it's location outside of the Bay visibility is often much better here at El Sequial than at other dive sites closer to Vallarta. The name Sequial means a "dry area" indicating that it is one of the few shallow areas close to the Corbeteņa island. Depths in this part of the bay go as far down as 1.5 miles and so it is an area popularly frequented by large marine life such as Tuna, Sailfish and sometimes Shark.

Dive # 7 Los Arcos Night Dive

One of Mexico's most popular marine reserves, Los Arcos is a cluster of granite islands that perch out of the water in the southern part of Banderas Bay. With depths ranging from 30-1600 feet, the waters surrounding Los Arcos are the deepest in the entire bay, offering experienced divers the perfect environment for night diving in Vallarta.

With Vallarta Adventures, certified divers can discover the thrill of night diving in the Devil's Canyon and El Bajo, the fascinating underwater mountain range, while witnessing the abundant lobster, octopus and other marine life that can only be seen at night.
